Demos

This Online Demo uses our new 3D Web Viewer which is an extension of the Open Source Virtual Globe Cesium WebGL.

Semantic 3D City Model of Berlin

Nowadays, a semantic 3D city model of the German capital Berlin is freely available to the public as open data in CityGML format, which comprises around 550,000 LoD2 building objects within the whole city area (890 kmĀ²). The open data is provided via a web-based service portal through which users can select and download individual building models in a variety of 3D data formats. In addition, the Berlin CityGML model has been exported to a tiled KML/glTF dataset using 3DCityDB and can be explored using the 3DCityDB-Web-Map-Client.

Hints for Usage

The hardware on which the 3DCityDB-Web-Map-Client will be run must have a graphics card installed that supports WebGL. In addition, the web browser in use must also provide appropriate WebGL support. You can visit the following website to check whether your web browser supports WebGL or not:

http://get.webgl.org/

The 3DCityDB-Web-Map-Client has been successfully tested on the web browsers (such as Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) under different desktop operating systems like Microsoft Windows, Linux, Apple Mac OS X, and even on mobile operating systems like Android and iOS. For best performance, it is recommended to use Google Chrome.
